Of Patreon And Discord

This is a BIG week. With less than a week until Fallout 4 comes out and effectively takes over my life, I’ve decided now is the best time to make some additions to our little community.

Patreon Launches In...

First and foremost, I have a rather large announcement. This Friday, I will be launching my very own Patreon! I’ll be kicking this off with a special stream, where I will discuss and try to raise awareness of the campaign. For those who don’t know what Patreon is, it’s a way that the community, can help fund all the work I do, and get rewards while doing it. Through this funding, I’ll be able to create higher quality content and perhaps if I’m lucky I can make enough money to do this full time! This is going to be a major paradigm shift for me, and I’m really excited to see where it takes me.

Now I know what you’re thinking “But Highsight, I don’t want to pay to see you! I like you just the way you are.” and to you I say, “It’s cool baby. You’ve still got me all the same.” If you can’t afford to donate, that’s totally cool. I would greatly appreciate you helping to spread the word though! Clicking this link would be a great start! I’m only human, and I can’t predict what will come down the line, but I am going to promise you right here and right now that I have no intention of ever restricting content to only those who pay me on Patreon. Patreons are still going to get rewards, and access to a few extra goodies, but I am working hard to ensure that these rewards aren’t too OP. Here’s some examples of the rewards I’m planning:

  • Extra Discord Privlages (More on that below)
  • Your Name In My Video Credits
  • The Power To Pick Which Games I Stream
  • A Monthly Recording Of Me Saying Something in Whatever Voice You’d Like.
  • Private QA Sessions Of Your Game. Just You And Me Going Over My Thoughts On It via Skype!

I’m still working out the logistics of some other rewards, but that’s a taste of what can be expected. I am going to do everything I can to keep my vow of non-gated content, and if that ever changes, I insist you call me out on it. Over the past year or so I’ve found that there is no substitute for frank open honesty. If I am asked a question by you, my fans, I will be as real with you fine folks as I can. This is the ONLY way to run a proper channel, and it’s how I plan on acting for as long as you’ll have me.

I hope you will all do what you can to help support me through this endevor, whether it’s with money, or just plain spreading the word. My fate is in your hands. 🙂

Observant viewers may have noticed there’s something new in the sideboard. If you didn’t notice, here it is again!

“What the hell is that!?” you may be asking yourselves. This is Discord! Discord is a handy dandy new way for gamers to keep in touch with each other. Think of it is TeamSpeak and Skype had a baby, and then they put that baby up for free adoption, and then that baby graduated first in its class, went back to its parents and said “Mother, Father, I don’t need you, I’ve never needed you. You’ve done nothing but hold me back, and this is the last you’ll see of me.” that would be Discord.

Moving forward, any and all voice chatting I do will be done on Discord, and it’s absolutely the best way to bring our community together! Simply hit that “Connect” button and you’ll be in and ready to go with no installs and no hassle. Any and EVERYONE is welcome to use the voice channels for their own private gaming sessions with friends. I will be setting up special channels in the future that will ONLY be accessible for Patreon donators. Come on by and say hi! That’s about it for the major announcements. I’m looking forward to seeing all of you in Discord, and once again I want to thank you for your continued support.

Happy Gaming,
